    Friday Foto Finish

    By Jeremy | December 7, 2007

    What was once inconceivable

Twelve months ago, the thought of me being emotionally attached to any pet, but most especially a dog, was unthinkable. Thirty-two years of indifference in homes filled with pets (including 5 dogs, a cat, fish, hamsters, turtles, frogs, and a guinea pig) persuaded me that pets were other people's playthings. Not mine. Then Diana overruled my objections and got Judah a dog for Christmas last year. Within 5 minutes or so, my hard heart began to melt, and 24 hours later, I was smitten. Today I call Kyra "Shadow" because she's attached to my heels from when I get home at night to when I leave in the morning. This is today at the breakfast table. Merry Christmas, Judah *wink, wink* and thanks, Diana, for teaching me to love a dog.
