Diana and I were recently introduced to a wonderful curriculum called Sonship, and have enjoyed working our way through 16 weekly lessons together. Today I was listening to Lesson 12 again and was struck by this (in a discussion about Peter's attempt to walk on water):
"Those guys in the boat may count [Peter sinking] a failure, but I don't. Because there was only one of those twelve who walked on water. And I tell you what ... I'm not gonna live my life for safety. I want to see God use me somehow. For something other than feeling better. ... There's a kingdom, and God has a call on your life. I don't know what it's to. ... But renewal is not a coin you can spend on yourself. ... Grace moves me out of myself; to love God; to love others. It moves me out of me. And so how does this work? Well the Holy Spirit will give you opportunity for ministry. He calls you to love ... to do acts of kindness and love with all sorts of people and all sorts of places."
