A
tornado blew through my neighborhood at dawn, derailing the subways citywide, damaging two churches blocks away from my apartment, and downing trees and roofs. I'm proud to say that it's the first storm in years (ever?) that actually woke me out of my slumber -- but only enough to close the window and go right back to sleep. This morning I ran a few errands before leaving for Baltimore and thought nothing of the storm, until three different text messages asked if my family was ok.
