    $35,111,211.00 and counting

    By Jeremy | March 20, 2007

Because his $160 million baseball contract isn't enough, BoSox flake and future hall of famer Manny Ramirez decided to auction a $4,000 grill on eBay, along with an autographed baseball. With 7 1/2 days left in the bidding, the 189th bid is at $35,111,211.00. That's $35 MILLION! Plus $70 for shipping.

    UPDATE, 3/21

    1) Evidently, the bidding on the grill was hijacked in some kind of strange prank. The latest bids this morning were up over $99 million, so eBay pulled the auction. 2) Turns out the grill wasn't even Manny's. He was doing his neighbor a favor.

You’ ve GOT to be kidding. What a country we live in. Is this one of the reasons we’ll be judged so severely?
