Despise not the time of small beginnings

I'm blogging this from JetBlue's wireless hotspot at JFK. Why? Because this morning I experienced a first: my first missed flight.
I'm one of those people who hates to hang around airport waiting areas, prefering last minute mad dashes to the gate over leisurely strolls through the food court. So I usually budget just enough time to get directly from check-in to my seat on the plane. My problem today: I didn't allow sufficient extra time for long-term parking and the necessary Airtrain ride to the terminal. I guess the dozens of near misses over the years finally caught up with me.
The upside: something good is in store this week!
