    Biopsy today

    Wednesday, April 6th, 2005

Please pray for 4-year old Samuel C. Originally diagnosed with leukemia in July, it went into remission in August. Now, after several weeks of poor blood levels, he’s going in for another biopsy today.

    Healthy Monday?

    Monday, March 14th, 2005

Last week I played the role of nurse for my sick wife and son. This weekend I was the patient. Saturday was a great day. Judah woke up without a fever for the first time since Tuesday. Diana was also feeling much better and spent the day with her aunt at a conference in Queens. [...]

    Health Coming

    Thursday, March 10th, 2005

Good news on the Judah front. It appears he had a virus that should work its way out of his system by tomorrow. Already today his energy is up and a partial appetite has returned. The fever still spikes occasionally, but the highs haven’t been as high and the energy lows haven’t been as low. [...]

    Health Wanted

    Wednesday, March 9th, 2005

Sinuses. Fevers. Argh! Diana had phase one of the procedure to finally rid her sinuses of infection yesterday. She’s battled chronic sinusitis for 18 weeks now, systematically resisting every conceivable antibiotic treatment. The procedure was originally scheduled a month ago but had to be postponed twice for medical reasons. Tomorrow she has a follow-up to [...]

    A little perspective

    Tuesday, February 1st, 2005

December’s tsunami claimed approximately 250,000 lives in one horrific afternoon, making it one of the worst natural disasters in history and triggering an unprecedented outpouring of global compassion. Yet in shear scope of impact, the tsunami pales in comparison to the global reach of HIV/AIDS. “Worldwide, 22 million people have died of AIDS, and today [...]

Please Join Judah in Praying for Sam

    Monday, January 3rd, 2005

My son Judah has been praying for four year old Samuel Carrasco since he was diagnosed with leukemia this summer. Sam will begin his third round of aggressive chemotherapy later this week. Please join Judah in praying for him and the family. More on Sam here.

Into Your Hands We Commend His Spirit

    Thursday, December 30th, 2004

It’s nearly midnight, 12/30, and I’ve just returned home from the funeral for 27-day-old Adam Jeremiah Jaruczyk (12/2/2004 – 12/29/2004). He died last night at 9:02 pm, after a valiant fight against a terminal disease. Most children with his condition don’t survive their first days, never mind a first Christmas. His parents Richard and Jessica [...]

Reggie White might have died from Sleep Apnea?!

    Thursday, December 30th, 2004

Reggie White, world class athlete, dies at the age of 43 of a massive heart attack which may have been induced by Sleep Apnea. [Story here.] This news struck a nerve with me because several years ago a close family member was diagnosed with the disorder. Providentially a friend who knew of his history of [...]
