Something the Lord Made
By Jeremy | February 17, 2007
SOMETHING THE LORD MADE is the story of two men - an ambitious white surgeon and a gifted black carpenter turned lab technician - who defied the racial strictures of the Jim Crow South and together pioneered the field of heart surgery. Mos Def breaks the rapper-turned-actor mold in a star-making performance as Vivien Thomas, and Alan Rickman of Robin Hood fame portrays Dr. Alfred Blalock. Phenomenal flick.
